Heart of Yolk
You got a head like an egg and a heart like a yolk,
A strong pair of legs and you're quick with the jokes,
You got everything needed for a quick escape,
|
Taking a seat by the door in the back,
Trying to be invisible trying to slip through the cracks,
Got off on the wrong foot and it just threw everything off,
|
You got a head full of daydreams and a will like an oak,
You bend but never break, you bent but never broke,
So, they left you alone for a while,
|
Living in fear,
Living on hope,
For days you can't yet describe,
|
Like a carpet so red,
Your imagination unfolds,
You got a head like an egg,
And a heart like a yolk,
|
Cat's eye and a puree,
Pretty colors in a pouch,
One eye while you take aim,
With your tongue sticking out,
|
You're smart sometimes,
They'll give you that,
There ain't no doubt,
|
You got a face like the moon and hair that swirls,
Like the treetops in a storm and an oyster's pearls,
You always play alone, but you're never alone,
|
Living in fear,
Living on hope,
For days you can't yet describe,
|
Like a carpet so red,
Your imagination unfolds,
You got a head like an egg,
And a heart like a yolk,
|
You came equipped with too much,
But most times not enough,
Love too hard,
Fight too soft
|
Try to follow along,
But you just get lost,
|
You got a face like the sun and hair that folds,
Like the reeds in the wind and your cape it blows,
Leaping tall buildings in a single bound,
Living in fear,
Living on hope,
For days you can't yet describe,
Like a carpet so red,
Your imagination unfolds,
You got a head like an egg,
And a heart like a yolk,
